The Indian Valentine’s Day – Karwa Chauth is almost here
flooding the markets with the festival goodies. From special ‘sargi’ food items
to beautiful and brightly colored bangles, the markets are all shimmer for the
day. Men and women alike are shopping for the festival buying clothes and
presents for their better halves. But what has made the festival more beautiful
is a competition introduced by Bikanervala inviting photographs from both
husbands and wives.
The Indian festival commemorating commitment and romance has
called for many restaurants and hotels offering contests in which one can win
special discounts and stay packages. Bikanervala has invited photographs of
husbands and wives who would put Hena (Mehndi) on their hands for the festival.
To participate, one needs to Share Mehndi Moments and a line about Bikanervala on
Bikanervala’s Facebook page. The Sweetest capture will win gift vouchers by
Bikanervala.
Karwa Chauth’15 is special for one very positive reason.
Male teachers in a junior high school at Bareilly District have appealed to the
Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) for a leave on the festival. The reason that has
been stated by them is that it is not only a festival for women. Bikanervala is
taking the positivity a step ahead by adding to it a healthy competitiveness.
Bikanervala spokesperson said, “The competition is open for
both men and women as now both husband and wife keep fasts. What more is that
men even get their wives names written with hena on their palms. We wished to
take this ahead by converting this into a healthy competition. Let’s see who
bag the prizes.”
The competition is all set to start and people can start
posting their photographs on Bikanervala page with #karwachauthmehndi.
