Bikanervala wishes a prosperous and sweet Diwali to all

Diwali is the celebration of light, the light that is not only symbolic of outer enlightenment but also the realization of the light within each one of us. This celebration commends in the month of Kartik with extraordinary fervor and zeal. The celebration goes on for 5 continuous days and the enthusiasm does not dull even till the last minute. Such a celebration is historic and Bikanervala takes the opportunity to wish each and every one a very happy, prosperous, enlightened and fulfilling Diwali.

The primary day of the festival is commended with “Dhanteras”, the day when people purchase gold, silver or utensils. The second day is celebrated as “Choti Diwali”. Third day is the main day of the festival which is celebrated with diyas, lights, rangoli, greetings, desserts, bursting crackers and all of this is done with amalgamation with love and affection.
The fourth day is celebrated as “Govardhan pooja” and the fifth day as “Bhai duj”. Diwali celebrates the arrival of the day when Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. Diwali also celebrates the triumph of Goddess Kali over Bakasura.
Diwali is a legendary festival that has its roots deep in our mythology but what is better is that that the day is celebrated in our country and among Indians throughout the world with unparalleled zeal and devotion. Bikanervala feels proud to be a part of such a rich heritage and believes that we all must respect our culture and celebrate the day with pride.

Share Karwa Chauth Mehndi Moments, bag prizes from Bikanervala

The Indian Valentine’s Day – Karwa Chauth is almost here flooding the markets with the festival goodies. From special ‘sargi’ food items to beautiful and brightly colored bangles, the markets are all shimmer for the day. Men and women alike are shopping for the festival buying clothes and presents for their better halves. But what has made the festival more beautiful is a competition introduced by Bikanervala inviting photographs from both husbands and wives.

The Indian festival commemorating commitment and romance has called for many restaurants and hotels offering contests in which one can win special discounts and stay packages. Bikanervala has invited photographs of husbands and wives who would put Hena (Mehndi) on their hands for the festival. To participate, one needs to Share Mehndi Moments and a line about Bikanervala on Bikanervala’s Facebook page. The Sweetest capture will win gift vouchers by Bikanervala.

Karwa Chauth’15 is special for one very positive reason. Male teachers in a junior high school at Bareilly District have appealed to the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) for a leave on the festival. The reason that has been stated by them is that it is not only a festival for women. Bikanervala is taking the positivity a step ahead by adding to it a healthy competitiveness.

Bikanervala spokesperson said, “The competition is open for both men and women as now both husband and wife keep fasts. What more is that men even get their wives names written with hena on their palms. We wished to take this ahead by converting this into a healthy competition. Let’s see who bag the prizes.”

The competition is all set to start and people can start posting their photographs on Bikanervala page with #karwachauthmehndi.
